Sonos goodness

I've always wanted to be able to walk from room to room in my house and hear my tunes without a gap. What about radio you say, well in fact a few years ago I had my own (illegal in the UK) very low power radio transmitter which I plugged into my server and set it up playing my tunes 24/7, while all the radios in the house were tuned in to "Radio Mike"

These days things are a little simpler, you can buy products which free your tunes from your puter like the Sonos and squeezebox.... Sonos are much, much more expensive, which lead to much deliberation in the Perrin household.... but eventually we finally bit the bullet and got one. Whooop!!! In the end the best price was found by trundling down to tottenham court road too, which is something I didn't expect. I can honestly say that our new Sonos is the best thing since sliced bread. In fact it's better than that. Setup was easy, we have two zones, living room and kitchen which we can sync.... play the same in both - or play different things in each. Also each amp has a line in which you can stream to other zones - so I can listen to the tv while working in the kitchen, or we can listen to the output from the puter in the living room. It even has high WAF!! - Helen can play all the tunes on our server without having to turn on the computer... and the controller is simplicity itself, we have been giving it to visitors, "play something!" and they do. Only trouble is in this age of iPhone they ALL try to touch the screen. Nada. Maybe in a few years, sonos you listening?
